Balm of Love for a Tender Heart

Do you have losses, griefs, or disappointments that are touching your heart today?

Let's look a little higher to the Lord of all creation who sings a song of love tonight.

Praying you might be comforted in some of the words from a song I wrote earlier this year and recently shared with our family in the passing of a dear loved one from our lives here.  Know that there is a balm of love for your tender heart, too.

go home alone at night
and tears drown out
the flame of hope inside —

Look higher up, my dear one
past the mountains to the sky.
The Lord of all creation
sings a song of love tonight.

You matter to the King of Kings
Your pain has pierced His side
Your wounds are held
by nail-scarred hands
that are reaching out tonight.

He’ll carry you in arms of love
to the shelter of His side
He’ll wrap your tender heart in His
and pour His balm inside.

Let Him hold you, dear one.
Invite His presence near.
For in His perfect heart of love
there is no cause for fear.”
